"The Author" is a single (with the accompanying B-side track "Empire") released to promote Brazil's 2019 reunion concert in Indianapolis, IN. It consists of a leftover song from the 2006 "The Philosophy of Velocity" sessions at Tarbox Studio in Cassadaga, NY, and an unreleased 2005 demo recorded at The Back Forty in Markleville, IN. The songs were made available briefly during a prior blog series by the band in 2006.
"The Author" and "Empire" were not performed live.
