2 is the second studio recording by City Water, released September 11, 2015 on Young Tobacco Records and later Nap Factory Records. The six-song work was recorded in Fishers, IN, by Jonathon Newby (as City Water) and mixed in Indianapolis, IN. Like 1, the EP is largely an experimental work combining musical impressionism, found sounds and improvisation. As a followup to its predecessor, 2 draws on more expansive orchestration, at times bordering on "dark jazz" and ambient noir. Lyrical themes are isolation, depression and loneliness.

2 has never been performed live.

I call your name in my blackest hour / I fall again in my blackest hour / All colors fade in my blackest hour / A trompe l’oeil in my blackest hour / Invisible

The Man Whom the Trees Loved

Angel, mine, hold the light / In the dark I sleep away / In that place, from up high above the canopy of night / Angel, mine, bless this child sing this song and hold him close / Bless the sea and bless the sky may they offer dreams tonight / I’m the man whom the trees loved

Secret Worship

I found a world in a place of secret worship / I made it all my place of secret worship / Afloat in black in my place of secret worship / A wooden raft in my place of secret worship / It’s only safe in my place of secret worship / I can show my face in my place of secret worship
